Flood WARNING Waterhouse River Update 2

The Bureau of Meteorology advises a minor flood warning remains in place for the Waterhouse River, with the water level at Beswick Bridge expected to reach the minor flood level (7.70 metres) this morning.

The Territory Controller advises residents of Galiwinku, Milingimbi, Gapuwiyak and Ramingining that is it now safe to leave your shelter. Shelters will remain open where necessary and residents in those areas are advised to take caution when leaving your shelter.

The Bureau of Meteorology has advised that TC Lam is expected to maintain Category 4 intensity as it moves over the coast near Galiwinku.

Regional Controller, Commander Bruce Porter advises residents in Milingimbi, Gapuwiyak and Ramingining to take shelter now. Residents in Galiwinku should remain in their shelters until advised by the Territory Controller.
