Northern Territory Police have charged a 53-year-old man after they were alerted to two children left unattended in a vehicle on 10 March.
Assistant Commissioner Jeanette Kerr said members of the Southern Child Abuse Taskforce were alerted to the incident by a concerned member of the public.
“It is believed that the children, aged one and two, were left in a shopping centre carpark for at least 20 minutes,” she said.
Police charged the man with:
- Recklessly endanger - Serious harm x 2
- Endanger life of child by exposure x 2
- Leave ignition keys in unattended vehicle
He has been bailed to appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
