Media from across the Territory
The Media unit is a vital component of the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services (NTPFES), serving as a crucial link between the organisation and the community through media channels. This small but impactful team provides strategic advice, manages media inquiries, coordinates conferences, and releases information on operational matters. Notably, the unit plays a pivotal role in disseminating information during natural disasters like cyclones, floods and bushfires.
The unit is responsible for maintaining and updating social media platforms, including PFES Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Additionally, it records, edits, and photographs events for both internal and external purposes.
Operating from 7am to 4:30pm on weekdays (excluding public holidays), the unit also has a media liaison officer available afterhours, covering emergencies and major events. The contact number is 0417 770 686.
The PFES Newsroom archives media releases from the past five years, and for historical information, the media team is readily accessible.
Media releases are published online and issued by email, and anyone can subscribe by clicking the Subscribe link.
