The Northern Territory Emergency Service (NTES) is responsible for facilitating Emergency Management planning, raising public awareness of potential disasters and providing a response capability for emergency events through dedicated volunteers. 

NTES is a part of the NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services, however as the service is mostly volunteer-based it is also affiliated with the Australia-wide State Emergency Service (SES). NTES volunteers come from all walks of life, bringing with them many different skills, interests and backgrounds.
