Arrest for Assault – Alice Springs

Police have arrested two males aged 21 and 23 in relation to an assault and disturbance that occurred outside Annie’s Place in The Gap last night.

A large bushfire which has been burning south-west of Alice Springs for the past 48 hours has now been declared to not be a threat to the town.

Police have established a road block at Flynn’s Grave west of Alice Springs after thick smoke from bushfires west of Alice Springs became hazardous to traffic late this afternoon.

Body identified - Erldunda

The body of a man who was found deceased near Erldunda last month has been identified.

Firefighters have been working throughout the night to cut fire breaks and contain fires to the north and south-west of Alice Springs.
