The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested and charged two males following a series of property offences committed in Alice Springs earlier this week.
Around 2am yesterday, Tuesday 27 October, a group of offenders allegedly attended six locations in the Ross Highway area, south of the Gap. It is alleged the offenders unlawfully entered residential properties, interfered with vehicles, and stole two motor vehicles, two motorcycles, cash and alcohol.
At one property on the Ross Highway, the offenders allegedly searched vehicles while wearing face coverings. A nearby residence was subsequently unlawfully entered, and a silver Mazda was allegedly stolen and used to ram through the rear gate.
The offenders then allegedly attended another residence on Schaber Road, where a Ford Ranger was stolen.
Strike Force Viper members later observed the Ford Ranger and commenced a pursuit; however, the pursuit was terminated after the vehicle entered scrubland in Arumbera. It was later recovered after being located abandoned.
