Strike Force Vega Hits Target - Alice Springs

The first 12 weeks of Strike Force Vega has seen a significant reduction in property related crime in Alice Springs.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said during this time members have made 124 arrests in relation to 462 offences and executed 28 warrants of apprehension.

“A further 44 summons have been issued and seven search warrants have been executed.

“During this time there has been a reduction in the incidents of property related crime, particularly unlawful entries.

“Police have maintained a high frequency of bail checks and have regularly patrolled crime ‘hot spots’.

“Strike Force Vega is an ongoing operation and we will continue to target criminal activity linked to property crime offending in Alice Springs.
