Northern Territory Police have arrested six people allegedly involved in a methamphetamine syndicate based in Darwin’s northern suburbs.

The pair then travelled back to Leanyer, where the woman was allegedly found in possession of 42g of methamphetamine and was arrested.

A short time later, two more women attended the same room. They were searched upon leaving and both were allegedly found to be in possession of a traffickable amount of methamphetamine.

“A warrant was then executed on the room. Police uncovered a further 36g of methamphetamine in plastic bags, as well as more than $37,500 cash, mobile phones, boarding passes, digital scales, deal bags, diamonds and financial records.

“Two men and a woman were arrested at the scene.”

A total of 92 grams of methamphetamine was seized. If sold in the Darwin region, the methamphetamine could be sold for as much as $184,000.

A 30-year-old man was remanded in custody and will appear today.

A 69-year-old woman was bailed in Darwin Local Court yesterday.

A 49-year-old man was remanded in custody and will appear in court on 13 April.

A 29-year-old woman was bailed to appear on 13 April.

Two women, aged 39 and 37, were remanded in custody to appear on 5 May.

Detective Superintendent Stringer said, “Let this be a warning for those who choose to be involved in supplying this poisonous drug: we know who you are and it is only a matter of time before we knock down your door.”
