Operation Fendi – Escape Custody – Update 2

Northern Territory Police are this morning continuing the search for missing prisoner Edward James Horrell, who absconded from the Datjala work camp in Nhulunbuy on Monday evening.

Operation Benta – Update

Northern Territory Police are continuing to work with the elders at Anugurugu and Umbakumba as the Groote Eylandt communities return to normal following last week’s disturbances in which two men were killed.

Escape Custody – Nhulunbuy – Update 1

Northern Territory Police have intensified their search for a prisoner who is reported to have absconded from the Correctional Services work camp in Nhulunbuy overnight.

Operation Benta – Further Arrests

Northern Territory Police have made a further three arrests on Groote Eylandt following the deaths of two young men last Friday.

Speed Camera Unit De-identification

As of tomorrow, spotting a speed camera van in the Territory is about to become very difficult. All Northern Territory Police mobile speed camera vehicles will have Police markings removed and all speed camera activity will now be undertaken covertly.

NT Police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a Queensland man who went missing in a remote area of Arnhem Land near the Gurrumurru Floodplain late last week.
