UPDATE - Concern for welfare - Barkly region

Police

A 47-year-old man who was reported missing from a remote community in the Barkly region yesterday, has been located.

A land search was launched from the community of Alpurrurulam by Northern Territory Police and local community members late yesterday after a man had been missing for a 24 hour period.

Police aerial search efforts today, with the assistance of community trackers and search teams, followed the man’s tracks throughout the day until it was learned he had walked back into the community at 2:45 this afternoon.

The man will be taken to the local clinic for a medical assessment after spending more than two days in remote bushland.

Northern Territory Police would like to thank the community for their assistance throughout this search.
