Northern Territory Police are appealing for witnesses to an alleged assault on a five year old child at Leanyer Water Park earlier today.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Kren said an unknown male has approached the child and allegedly assaulted him at around 12.30 this afternoon. The child was not injured and reported the matter to his mother, who in turn alerted police.

The man is described as tall, dark skinned with short black hair and was wearing a light blue shirt and black shorts.

Detective Sergeant Kren said “We are appealing for anyone who was at the Leanyer Water Park earlier today and who may have information to contact Police to assist with their enquiries.”
