Two youths have been arrested and another remains outstanding following an aggravated burglary in Gapuwiyak yesterday.

Around 7:45am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report a residence had been unlawfully entered by at least three male youths, one of which allegedly was carrying a weapon.

The three males made demands of the victim, however after she refused, they left the premises and attended a nearby property.

Police received a report shortly after that a group of youths attended a Council premises armed with weapons allegedly demanding vehicle keys and cigarettes.

Investigations have identified the involvement of three youths, while a further three offenders remain unidentified.

Two male youths aged 16 and 15 were located and arrested.

While transporting the arrested youths to the Police Station, a third identified youth threw rocks at the police vehicle, causing minor damage to the driver’s side door.

During processing at the station, the third youth began throwing rocks at the building before leaving the area. 

The front glass door of the building was damaged in the incident.

Investigations are ongoing and continue to be led by Gapuwiyak Police.
