The Northern Territory Police Force can confirm that the 47-year-old victim assaulted on Friday 18 September has died in Royal Darwin Hospital.

Police received confirmation of their death earlier today.

The victim’s partner, a 39-year-old male, was arrested shortly after the alleged assault and remains in custody.

He was charged with Acts Intended to Cause Serious Harm and police are currently liaising with the Department of Public Prosecutions. 

He remains in custody with a next court appearance scheduled for 28 October 2026.

Investigations remain ongoing.
