Arrest - Domestic Violence - Palmerston

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a man for a domestic violence related assault in Palmerston overnight.

At 2.30am, the Joint Emergency Services Communications Centre received a report from medical staff at the Palmerston Regional Hospital advising that at approximately 8pm on Friday 18 September, a male had brought his female partner into the hospital stating she was unwell, before leaving the location.

A medical assessment by staff identified that the victim had suffered two stab wounds to her chest.

The victim has since been transferred to Royal Darwin Hospital in a critical condition.

The victim’s partner, a 39-year-old male was arrested at an address in Palmerston and remains in custody.

Investigations remain ongoing.
