Police have now released the name of the deceased male from yesterday's motor vehicle crash that occurred in Parap.

It is alleged that 20-year-old Shannan Low was driving his Holden Barina van along the Stuart Highway when it appears that he lost control and collided with a tree.

Police and NT Fire and Rescue Service personnel attended however he was declared deceased at the scene.

Investigations to determine the cause of the crash and surrounding circumstances are continuing.
