The man allegedly fail to stop at a red light at the intersection of the Stuart Highway and Hemming Road on June 13. The inbound road train towing three trailer-loads of cattle collided with a Holden Statesman which was making a right hand turn onto the Stuart Highway from Hemming Road.
The 20-year-old female driver of the Holden was killed instantly. Major Crime Detectives have charged the man with:
Dangerous driving causing death
Entering an intersection against a red light
Driving a vehicle without a fastened seatbelt.
He has been bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on July 30.
Earlier this month a 22-year-old man was charged in relation to another death which occurred at the crash scene the same night. A 47-year-old man died when he was hit by a Holden Commodore as he was directing traffic around the scene of the first accident.
The driver of the Holden Commodore was charged with:
Driving a motor vehicle causing death
Entering an intersection against a red light
Driving a motor vehicle unsafe to drive.
He has been bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on September 29.
