Northern Territory Police are investigating an aggravated burglary and assault at a motel in Galiwinku early this morning.
At around 2:40am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received reports that a group of youths was attempting to break into the motel.
The group allegedly forced entry to the premises and assaulted a 40-year-old man, who was struck with an unknown object. He was taken to the local health clinic for treatment to bruising and a laceration to his arm.
Police received multiple calls from distressed occupants who had locked themselves inside their rooms as the group allegedly moved through the motel armed with weapons, striking doors and threatening those inside.
Galiwinku Police attended, and the group fled before officers arrived.
Police have since received information from members of the community that may assist investigators to identify those involved.
