Two teenagers arrested –Alice Springs

Police have arrested two teenage boys in relation to a number of incidents in Alice Springs overnight.

The youths, aged 15 and 14, allegedly assaulted a 42-year-old man who was riding his bike along the Stuart Highway near Old Timers just after 5.30am today. Police allege they were part of a large group of young people who knocked the victim off his bicycle and assaulted him. The assault stopped when a passing motorist pulled over to assist.

Police allege the two youths were also involved in three unlawful entries overnight in which alcohol, cash and other goods were stolen. The incidents occurred at the CAFL club rooms in Traeger Park, Pioneer Park Raceway and the Alice Springs Golf Club.

The youths are being interviewed this afternoon.
