Police advise that a 22-year-old male has died as a result of the injuries he sustained after being struck by a vehicle on Bagot Road on Wednesday night, 15 June 2011.

It is alleged that the male stepped out into oncoming traffic at around 9:35 pm and was struck by a Toyota Camry, driven by a 62-year-old male.

The pedestrian was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital and has since died.

Members of the Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

This now takes the NT road toll to nine compared to 17 for the same period last year.
