Large Ice Seizure - Marrara

NT Police Drug and Organised Crime Detectives this morning seized 67.5 grams of high grade methylamphetamine at a hotel room in the suburb of Marrara.

A 24 year old Darwin male and a 31 year old Brisbane female were arrested, allegedly in the process of cutting the drugs into smaller amounts. 

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Schiller said this is the second time the same Detectives had dealt with this same male in recent weeks.

“This 24 year old Darwin male will face Court again, this time charged with ‘Escape Lawful Custody’, ‘Possess Dangerous Drugs - Schedule Two – Trafficable’, ‘Possess Thing to Administer a Dangerous Drug’ and three ‘Warrants of Apprehension’”

“NT Police have been actively searching for this male since he absconded from a Darwin rehabilitation centre on Sunday night.”

“This is a significant seizure with a street value in excess of $100,000.”

The female was arrested and charged with ‘Possess Dangerous Drugs - Schedule Two – Trafficable’ and ‘Possess Thing to Administer a Dangerous Drug’

Both are currently in Police custody and are expected to face Court at a later date.
