Detectives from the Northern Substance Abuse Intelligence Desk seized a commercial quantity of cannabis near Mataranka yesterday.
Detective Acting Sergeant Paul Lawson said Police apprehended a Holden Commodore approximately one kilometre north of Mataranka at around 1:00pm.
“Police conducted a search of the vehicle and located 4.5 kilograms of cannabis.”
A 41-year-old male driver was arrested and charged with:
- Possess cannabis – commercial quantity
- Unlawfully supply cannabis to another
He was remanded in custody and will appear in Katherine Magistrates Court today.
