Detectives from the Southern Serious Crime Squad are investigating an alleged aggravated assault that occurred in Alice Springs yesterday evening.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Dash said Police allege two men aged 38 and 52 were involved in an altercation that occurred at a caravan park on Ragonesi Road at around 6:30pm.

“Police allege the 52-year-old man struck the victim to the face and assaulted him.

“The victim was taken to Alice Springs Hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.

“Police arrested a 52-year-old man and he remains in Police custody assisting with enquires.

“Police urge anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
