Strike Force Trident detectives have charged a man following an aggravated unlawful entry at a tavern in Berrimah.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said Police will allege the man unlawfully entered the premises in the early hours of Saturday, November 7 and stole a quantity of alcohol. 

“Police will also allege the man returned to the premises yesterday morning and smashed a window, triggering an audible alarm before fleeing the area.

Upon review of CCTV footage, a 19-year-old man known to Police was identified. He was later arrested in Knuckey Lagoon and charged with:

• Damage to property (x2)
• Aggravated unlawful entry
• Stealing
• Attempt to commit a crime – unlawful entry

He will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today.
