Police

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to multiple aggravated burglaries that occurred in Desert Springs overnight.

Around 1.35am this morning, police responded to reports of up to five unknown offenders unlawfully entering a residence on Concord Court and stealing a set of car keys.

The offenders were disturbed by the male occupant and fled the scene. The offenders returned and confronted neighbours, allegedly throwing rocks at them, with a female neighbour being struck by an unknown object. She did not require medical assessment.

The occupant of the residence was also struck with an object and allegedly had a substance sprayed in his eyes by the offenders, who proceeded to steal a white Mitsubishi Pajero and flee the scene.

The victim was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital to receive medical treatment.

Around 5.30am, police received reports of the Pajero being involved in another aggravated burglary at a residence on Lakes Court. The offenders allegedly unlawfully entered the home and stole vehicle keys before they were disturbed by the occupants. They returned to the Pajero to retrieve a weapon which they allegedly used to threaten the occupants and steal a white Toyota Hilux.

The offenders fled the scene with both vehicles.

Frontline police, including members from Strike Force Viper and Southern Investigations, responded and multiple crime scenes were established.

The white Toyota Hilux was recovered after it was found burnt out south of Heavitree Gap.

The offenders and white Mitsubishi Pajero remain outstanding.
