WOW Day (Wear Orange Wednesday)

Emergency Service

Today, we wear orange in recognition of our NT Emergency Service (NTES) personnel and say thank you to our volunteers for their hard work and dedication to providing assistance during cyclones, floods, storms, search and rescue operations and other emergencies.

Territorians are encouraged to wear orange and show their support of emergency service volunteers by wearing orange and hosting an orange themed morning tea.

Director of NTES Fleur O’Connor said “Wearing orange in show of support is a small gesture, but it means a lot to the men and women who serve our community.”

“There are over 140 NTES volunteers based in the Northern Territory from all walks of life, bringing with them many different skills, interests and backgrounds. They are united by the purpose of supporting their community in times of need.”

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with NTES, please visit the NTPFES website for more information.
