Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in connection to the alleged sexual assault of a disabled woman in Alice Springs on Sunday afternoon.

Detectives from the Regional Crime Division conducted several lines of inquiry that led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man.

He remains in custody and assisting police with their investigation.
