Charges – Aggravated robbery – Palmerston

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 14-year-old male following two incidents of aggravated assault.

At around 3:30pm on 24 April 2020, the 14-year-old allegedly pushed a youth off his bicycle, punched him multiple times, and rode off with the bicycle in Johnston. The victim suffered minor injuries.

The 14-year-old was arrested by detectives from the Serious Crime Squad yesterday.

He was also arrested in relation to incidents which occurred in Moulden between 10 and 11 March 2020.

He was charged with:

  • aggravated assault x 3
  • aggravated robbery
  • armed with offensive weapon
  • engage in violence conduct.

He was bailed to appear in the Darwin Youth Justice Court on 26 June 2020.

A second 14-year-old male was arrested on 18 March in relation to the Moulden incidents. He was scheduled to appear in Darwin Youth Justice Court today.

He was charged with:

  • aggravated assault x 3
  • aggravated unlawful entry – building
  • arson
  • damage to property
  • stealing
  • armed with offensive weapon
  • engage in violent conduct.

A 13-year-old male is expected to be summonsed and a 15-year-old male has been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act in relation to the Moulden incidents.
