Cocaine Syndicate Dismantled – Darwin

Northern Territory Police have arrested two males and a female as part of an investigation into the distribution of cocaine in Darwin.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer from the Organised Crime Division said the investigation netted a total of 110 grams of cocaine and more than $130,000 in cash and assets.

“Police will allege the group was part of a syndicate that shipped cocaine into Darwin through mail distribution centres.

“Yesterday, police executed a search warrant at a shed in Woolner. A total of 6.4 grams of cocaine and over $34,000 in cash was seized.

“A 39-year-old male was arrested and charged with possession and supply of a Schedule 1 dangerous drug and possession of tainted property.

“Later in the day, police executed another warrant at a residence in Nakara. A Mitsubishi ASX SUV and a number of mobile phones were seized.”

A 28-year-old male and a 33-year-old female were arrested at the residence and charged with:

  • Supply Schedule 1 dangerous drug (x11)
  • Supply Schedule 1  dangerous drug – commercial quantity
  • Possess Schedule 1 dangerous drug – commercial quantity
  • Possess Schedule 1  dangerous drug

All three will appear in Darwin Local Court today.

“This is a significant result for the Northern Territory Police and we will continue to target those involved in the supply of illicit drugs in the Territory,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer.
