Cannabis Seized - Tennant Creek

Police have seized 487 grams of cannabis and charged two people with drug offences following two separate traffic apprehensions in Tennant Creek today.

Acting Superintendent Pauline Vicary said Police apprehended a Ford sedan on the north Stuart Highway at around 12:50am and conducted a search of the vehicle.

“As a result of the search Police located and seized 475 grams of cannabis and a small quantity of cannabis seeds.

“The 35-year-old female driver was arrested and charged with possess and supply a trafficable quantity of cannabis.”

She will appear in Tenant Creek Court on Thursday, 24 September.

“In a separate incident Police apprehended a Holden Rodeo on Udall Road at around 1:50pm.

“Police conducted a search of the vehicle and seized 12 deal bags containing 12 grams of cannabis.

“The 36-year-old male driver was charged with possess cannabis in a public place and supply cannabis to another.”

He will appear in Tennant Creek Court on 20 October, 2015.

“Tennant Creek Police will continue to target individuals who profit from kind of offending,” Acting Superintendent Vicary said.
