Two men, both independently on the run in the Northern Territory, will be extradited to Queensland and South Australia respectively today.
A 23-year-old Curra man wanted for armed robbery in Gympie was arrested by detectives from the Katherine Investigation Division in Katherine on Friday. The man is to be extradited to Queensland today.
The second man, also 23-years-old, was taken into custody by the Territory Response Group last Friday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Board from the Serious Crime Squad said a cross border operation between detectives from the Serious Crime Squad and South Australia traced the man to an address in Moulden.
“Detectives from Queensland and South Australia have arrived in Darwin and will affect the extraditions today.
“This is again another great result for the Northern Territory Police Force.
“We will continue to work with our interstate colleagues to pursue any interstate offender that is of the belief they can come to the Territory to evade apprehension,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Board.
