Youths face 38 charges for crime spree - Darwin

Police

Two male youths aged 15 and 17 are to appear in the Youth Justice Court today following a number of unlawful entries that have occurred throughout Darwin and surrounding suburbs recently.

Sergeant Kaye Pemberton of the Darwin Tactical Team said the two boys were arrested on Monday during the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Bagot Community.

“Darwin and Palmerston Tactical Team members had been working hard on locating these offenders as it is alleged they have been involved in numerous offences in Darwin City, Bayview, Fannie Bay and Ludmilla during the month of May,” Sergeant Pemberton said.

“Police also located electrical equipment including stereos which is yet to be returned to its rightful owner.

“If you have been the victim of a stealing incident in the last two months and had iPod docking stations, sound systems or stereo equipment stolen, Police would like to reunite you with your property. Please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or 131 444 to report the incident.

Both youths have been charged with a total of 38 offences, including:

  • Aggravated unlawful entry (x9)
  • Stealing (x11)
  • Unlawful use of a motor vehicle (x8)
  • Attempt to commit a crime (x2)
  • Interfere with a motor vehicle
  • Trespass (x2)
  • Damage property prepare commit conceal (x2)
  • Possess stolen property
  • Drive unlicensed
  • Possess dangerous drug.

Both youths were remanded in custody to appear in court today.
