Unlawful Entries - Alice Springs

Police

Police are calling for public assistance regarding an unlawful entry of a business in the Todd Street Mall.

Detective Senior Sergeant Travis Wurst said Police were looking for an offender who is of aboriginal appearance, wearing a white or grey T-shirt with 4 or 5 hoops across the chest.  He was wearing white or cream shorts with black checks.

“The person is about 20 years old and is around 180cm tall.  He is wanted in connection to a table being thrown through the front window of the establishment.  The offender has then gained entry and taken alcohol.”

The Incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning and anyone who may have seen a person matching the description or may have information is asked to contact Police on 131 444 or contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

In an unrelated case, Alice Springs detectives have arrested a 22 year-old male in relation to property offences in Raggett Street, Eastside last week.

Detective Senior Sergeant Wurst said that some items stolen from the two houses that were unlawfully entered have also been recovered.

“The man has been charged with two counts of Unlawful Entry and Stealing.  It comes as a result of some solid work by Alice Springs Southern Investigation Unit Detectives.”

Police have also arrested a 21 year-old man in relation to an Unlawful Entry at a Tavern in the centre of town.  A duty manager arrived at work to find the man bleeding heavily and lying on the floor of the tavern.

Police will allege the man has used his fists to smash through the fridge doors after forcing his way inside causing severe lacerations to his hands.  He has been taken to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment and was charged with Unlawful Entry.

“Unfortunately we see this from time to time that an individual under the affects of alcohol will not think about the consequences of his actions when in the pursuit of even more to drink.”
