Police

A 37-year-old man wanted in relation to allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman, has been arrested in Adelaide.

South Australian Detectives arrested the man in the suburb of Morphett Vale this morning after he fled the Territory.

NT Police allege the man threatened to kill the woman’s unborn baby, before striking the 20-year-old in the stomach with a glass bottle and punching her numerous times.

“He’s been on the run since the alleged incident in Darwin’s northern suburb of Brinkin on the 10th of February.” Said Detective Acting Superintendent Scott Pollock.

“General Crime Detectives will fly to Adelaide today to extradite the 37-year-old to Darwin to face court.”

“This result endorses our commitment towards tracking down serious criminal offenders across Australia and, with the co-operation of other Policing jurisdictions, ensuring we apprehend them and bring them to justice”. Said Det A/Supt. Pollock.
