Teenager Charged After Car Break-ins - Tennant Creek

Police

Tennant Creek Police have charged a 16-year-old boy with a string of offences in relation to multiple vehicle break ins in Tennant Creek.

Superintendent Craig Barrett said the youth had been charged following the break-ins which occurred at the weekend.

“Between Friday, 24 of February and Monday morning, 27 February five reports were received in relation to vehicles being broken into around the Tennant Creek Hospital,” Superintendent Barrett said.

“It’s a shame that people working hard at the hospital to help the community have to deal with their cars and property being stolen and vandalised in this way.

“Police will continue to crack down on this type of behaviour and hold those responsible to account.”

The youth was charged with:

Interfere with a motor vehicle (x4);

Stealing from a motor vehicle (x4), and;

Criminal damage (x4).

The juvenile was bailed and will appear in the Tennant Creek Magistrates Court today.
