Suspicious Fire - Durack

Police

Crime Scene and Fire Investigators along with Detectives from the General Crime Section are scouring the scene of a vehicle fire that occurred this morning in Palmerston.

Authorities were called to the Durack premises with reports a car was on fire just after half-past-two.

“Fortunately neighbours were alerted to the fire and were able to contain it before it spread to the house.” Said Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Board.

“Fire crews attended and completely extinguished the blaze.”

“The vehicle was parked in the carport of the house and it was only through the quick action of neighbours that the fire was contained to the carport.”

“Minor smoke and heat damage was caused to the carport and eaves of the house.” Said Snr Sgt Board.

The blaze is being treated as suspicious and anyone with information is asked to contact the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
