Sexual Assault Update - Alice Springs

Alice Springs Police have now charged a 21-year-old man over an alleged sexual assault.

Police received a report a 17-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted near the Karnte Town Camp in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

“This was particularly good work by Detectives who arrested the accused within hours of the alleged incident.” Said Senior Sergeant Dave Richardson.

“Charges of Sexual Intercourse Without Consent and Aggravated Assault have now been laid.”

“Police in Alice Springs are striving to keep the community safe and take those to court who break the law.” Said Sen Sgt Richardson.

The 21-year-old man has been remanded in custody and will appear in court on March the First.
