A man will appear in Alice Springs Court today after he was charged with the sexual assault of a woman in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Detective Sergeant Trent Abbott said Police allege the man attacked the 33-year-old woman as she walked from the Hidden Valley Town Camp into the Alice Springs CBD.

“The 22-year-old allegedly grabbed the woman and sexually assaulted her in the suburb of Sadadeen at about 12.30,” Detective Sergeant Abbott said.

“The man then allegedly ran off but was identified by the alleged victim.

“He was arrested later that day and remanded in custody until today.

“He was charged with:

“Sexual intercourse without consent.”
