A 21-year-old man has been arrested this morning following an allegation of sexual assault.

The alleged offence occurred near Karnte Town Camp in Alice Springs about 2am.

Senior Sergeant David Richardson, says initial investigations have revealed the 17-year-old alleged victim knew the male.

“A crime scene has been established and is being forensically examined.”

“The 21-year-old male is currently in custody and is helping Police with their inquiries.”

Investigations are continuing and charges are yet to be laid.
