Police

Northern Territory Police have seized a commercial quantity of cannabis, a rifle, silencers, ammunition and more than 40-thousand dollars during the execution of multiple search warrants.

Officers from the Drug and Organised Crime Section and the TRG raided properties and Livingstone and Jingili yesterday.

The haul included cannabis plants found in hydroponic grow rooms, a quantity of methyl amphetamine, more than one-and-a-half kilograms of cannabis plant material, a point-22 calibre rifle, 860 rounds of ammunition and a large quantity of fireworks.

“A subsequent raid on the Jingili property located 41-thousand-dollars in cash.” said Commander Richard Bryson.

“It will be alleged the money was from the proceeds of crime.” He said.

A 42-year-old man has been charged with numerous offences, including cultivating a trafficable quantity of cannabis plants, possessing a commercial quantity of cannabis plant material, possessing methyl amphetamine, possessing dangerous goods and a range of firearm offences.

He will appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court this morning.
