Public Assistance Required - Reported Sexual Assault - Cossack

NT Police are calling for assistance from the public following a report of a sexual assault in Cossack yesterday morning.

While investigations remain in preliminary stages, Police are calling on anyone who may have seen a person matching the following description in the Cossack vicinity yesterday morning to contact them:

Male; Estimated to be between 172 and 182 centimetres in height; Wearing black trousers, black motorcycle jacket, black motorcycle boots and black motorcycle gloves.

It is unknown how old the male is or whether he is Caucasian or otherwise at this stage.

Detective Senior Constable First Class Ian Kennon said the alleged sexual assault is reported to have occurred in Cossack, approximately 40 kilometres from Katherine.

“The female victim attended Katherine Police Station front counter late yesterday to report a sexual assault which occurred in her home, on her rural property.

“The victim provided a distinct description of what the alleged male offender was wearing so we are hoping members of the public may have seen someone matching this description in the Cossack area during the course of the morning yesterday.” Detective Snr Const 1st Class Kennon said.

There are no further details available with regards to the alleged sexual assault at this stage in the investigation.
