Police Seek Public Assistance After Teen Attacked Alice Springs

Police

Northern Territory Police have released descriptions of two men they are searching for in relation to an attack on a teenaged girl in Alice Springs.

Police are now appealing to the public for assistance in finding the pair.

Detective Sergeant Trent Abbott said he hoped the public could help Police find the men who are wanted for questioning after the alleged attack on the 15-year-old yesterday afternoon.

Detective Sergeant Abbott said both men are suspected to be in their 20s.

“One was described as being of solid build, dark complexion and wearing a black hoodie with the hood pulled up,” Detective Sergeant Abbott said.

“The other man had a very dark complexion, skinny build and was wearing a white cap with hair sticking out from under it. The man had a long rat’s tail with yellow and black beads, long enough to reach his shoulders.

“If anyone saw these men yesterday or knows them from the description could they please contact Police on 131 444 or CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.”

“The teenager was walking through an alley between Winnecke Avenue and Wallis Street in Eastside at about 5pm yesterday when she was approached by the two men, one of whom pushed her to the ground,” Detective Sergeant Abbott said.

“One of the offenders held a hand over the girl’s mouth and punched her to the face while the other tried to grab her handbag and a laptop.

“The girl managed to hold onto her bag and struggled with the offenders, biting one on the right arm.”
