Police Hunt Crossbow Offender - Palmerston

Serious Crime Squad Detectives are requesting public assistance to track down a man who robbed a taxi driver in Altair Court Woodroffe overnight.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Chris Board said the man threatened the driver of the taxi with a loaded crossbow at about 2.30am.

“The taxi driver had just dropped off two passengers and was preparing to leave the area when a man allegedly appeared at his door pointed a crossbow at him and demanded money.

“The driver has handed over his takings and the offender has left the area.

“Police are very concerned that this type of weapon has allegedly been used in this robbery and we are very keen to apprehend this offender.”

The man is described as being of part-aboriginal appearance, 25-30 years old, approximately 175 – 180 cm tall and 65-70kg. He has short black hair and a small moustache with faint beard.  He was wearing a blue t-shirt and a pair of shorts.

The crossbow is described as being black, armed with a black bolt that had a practice tip.  The bow was approximately 40cm across the face.
