Pedestrian Crash Nhulunbuy

A 43-year-old male pedestrian was injured on Melville Bay Road, Nhulunbuy, at approximately 8:00pm last night.

Acting Senior Sergeant Alex Brennan said the local man was walking along the road verge when he was hit by a passing vehicle.

“St. John Ambulance and local Police attended the scene, and the man was initially taken to Gove Hospital suffering a broken leg and lacerations to the head.

“The man has since been evacuated to Royal Darwin Hospital for further examination.

“Police do not believe the driver to be at fault in this instance, and urge the public to take due care when walking along high traffic areas,” said Acting Senior Sergeant Brennan.
