Police

NT Police are calling for public assistance after an unlawful entry and aggravated assault at a unit in Fannie Bay this morning.

Sergeant Kaye Pemberton from the Darwin Tactical Team said the unknown offenders smashed the glass door of the unit on Phillip Street with rock at approximately 2:15 am.

“Once inside the offenders were disturbed by the occupants of the unit while in the process of stealing a wallet and alcohol.

“One of the offenders was followed out of the unit by the female occupant.  The offender has then thrown a bottle of alcohol at the occupant hitting her in the leg.  He has then fled with his co-offenders down Phillip Street.

“We would like to speak to a couple who were seen walking along Phillip Street at around the time of the incident as they may be able to assist us. The couple are urged to contact Police on 131 444,” said Sergeant Pemberton.

Two of the offenders are described as:

1. A man of Aboriginal appearance, mid-twenties, about 162 centimetres tall, medium to thin build, wearing a black hoddie type shirt with white writing or a white stripe across the chest and red shorts.

2. A man of Aboriginal appearance, mid-twenties, about 170 centimetres, chubby build, black curly hair of medium length, no facial hair, wearing a blue shirt and loose fitting red board shorts.
