Police

Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad with the assistance for the Territory Response Group have arrested a 25-year-old man wanted by Queensland Police in relation to a shooting incident which occurred on Wembley Road, Browns Plains on 7 June 2012.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Chris Board from the Serious Crime Squad said that members attended an address in Gotham Street, Leanyer late this afternoon. Road blocks were put in place in the vicinity while members from the TRG and the Bear Cat were deployed to the unit complex.

“Limited traffic and disruption occurred to the public and the male surrendered to the TRG without incident.

“This was a great outcome to have this man arrested after an extensive multi-jurisdictional operation.

“Investigations will continue with extradition proceedings to commence with Queensland Police, where the male will face a range of serious charges,” said Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Board.
