Investigations Continue into Alleged Nightcliff Assault

Northern Territory Police are continuing to investigate allegations of sexual assault against a 15 year-old girl.

Superintendent Jo Foley said a dedicated team of 16 Officers have door knocked the Nightcliff area extensively, in an effort to gain information about the incident.

“Police are working to ascertain further details in relation to the alleged assault but have not yet been able to conduct a follow up interview with the alleged victim.”

It was reported to Police yesterday that the teenager was forced into a car and sexually assaulted in Bougainvillea Street around 3.30pm yesterday.

People who were in the area at the time or who may have seen a dark coloured 4WD in the vicinity of the alleged incident are urged to contact Police on 131 444 or contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Until Police finalise investigations, no further detail will be disclosed.
