Detectives from the Major Crime Squad are investigating the deaths of three people in Darwin’s northern suburbs overnight.

Officers attended the Leanyer Drive home about 8 o’clock this morning.

Upon entering the house the bodies of an eight-year-old girl, four-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man were discovered.

“A crime scene was immediately established and Forensic Officers examined the scene.” said Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Bradley Currie.

“While thorough investigations are continuing, Police believe the incident is a murder-suicide.”

“Police can confirm the adult male was related to the children.” Said Det Act Sen Sgt Currie.

“A coronial investigation will be conducted to determine causes of death.” Said Det Act Sen Sgt Currie.
