Child Sex Offender Extradited to Appear in Darwin

Police

A 78-year-old man has been arrested in Victoria by investigators from the Northern Territory Police Sex Crimes Unit.

He has been extradited in relation to alleged historic sex offences dating back to the 1970’s and involving three separate male victims aged between 10 and 14 years at the time.

The man has been charged with 18 counts relating to sexual offences and is expected to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court this morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Manley states “historic sexual offences are often protracted and complex matters to investigate.  Victims should know that police will pursue these matters vigorously”.
