Call for Witnesses to Stabbing Robbery - Darwin

Police

General Crime Detectives are calling for witnesses to a robbery and stabbing in the Darwin CBD.

Just before 9:00 pm last Sunday night the 11th of March, Police received a report of a stabbing on the corner of Cavenagh and Searcy Street.

An offender cut the strap of a travel bag, carried by a Taiwanese man, and ran from the scene.

“The man gave chase up Searcy Street, only to be cut on the arm and stabbed in the back” said Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Board.

“The offender is described as being of Caucasian appearance with a slim build, early 20s, 170 – 180cm tall and was wearing a white short sleeved shirt.”

“He may also have an accent,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Board.

“Investigations suggest the offender ran up Searcy Street onto Smith Street where he then crossed the road and ran up Peel Street towards Shenannigans.”

“This is a very serious incident and we are yet to identify a suspect. Someone would have seen this incident occur and it is this information that could assist with our investigation.”

Police request that anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information that could assist with their inquiries should call 131 444 or contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
