Unlawful Entry - Tennant Creek

Police

A 31 year-old man is in Police custody after breaking into a Tennant Creek hotel overnight.

The man was witnessed smashing his way into the rear of the building just after midnight before being challenged by the hotel manager.  Two witnesses have attempted to stop the offender fleeing and were assaulted, one has allegedly been bitten on the forearm and the other kicked.

Senior Sergeant Shane Shewring said the offender was then restrained by the men and held until Police arrived a short time later.

“Police have arrested the man outside the hotel and charged him with assault, entering a building with intent to commit an offence and breach of a suspended sentence.”
